W140GILL (old post) Gauge lights Help

From the old post :The second method (which i did) is without pulling hooks. Undo the the carpeted panel beneath the dashboard.
How do you undo the carpet panel? It will not budge..help[8)]

Hi,
There are cross headed screws all along the join between the carpet panel and the upper part of the dash. Undo these and the screws toward the pedals. The carpet panel should come away without any excessive force. If it appears to be catching then you have missed some screws out.....just wait 'till you have to reach up and push the cluster forward, now that mama is really difficult to budge [:D]
