Gill,

I am trying to Upgrade my climate control unit from a '99 S500 to my '95 S500 ...

I took the console out and found out that the Plugs on the '94 are different than the '99.

What can I do?

I like the way '96-'99 look.

Please Help.

New loom with plugs

Visit your dealer and order the correct loom. Like you ,I have also heard of other people swaping these units, so I know its possible.

Mike,

Be sure and let us know the outcome of your climate control conversion. I've been interested in updating my unit too.

Thanks,
Russell
Gil,

What is a Loom ? and What specific do I ask the dealer for?

Do you have any pics of the unit/part?

Let me know, I am anxious to swap this thing.

Thanks and Let me know..,

I am afraid i dont have any pictures of the heating loom.
It's basically a bunch of wires grouped together with the correct sockets at each end that plus between your new control unit, the sensors and the fusebox.
For clarity, in North America, a loom is called a wireing harness.

English is a wonderfull language. I was reading an Australian thread, mentoning a "front aerodynamic facia", here we call it a spoiler.
Gil,

Do you think I might picked up the wrong climate control?, because the part number starts with 210.....

?

Let me know..,
can you give me the full part number please

Here is the part number on it;

210 830 05 85

and here are a few pics...

Thanks and Let me know,

The part number is correct. Its suitable for the W140 and was used in late C-classes and E-classes of that vintage.

You now need to visit the dealer for the loom(harness) for with the correct plugs - keep me updated with your progress

To install that, you have to cut off some of the wood on the old climate control area, right?

Yes. The hole will be slightly bigger but not noticable
Mike,

I was curious if you ever got the conversion to work with the new climate contol update.
