hello everyone. im new to this website, but i have a couple questions for whoever can help me. i just bought my first benz. its a 95 s320. i am having some trouble taking off the shift knob, i and turning it counterclockwise and it doesnt come off. i turned it so hard that teh leather is coming off the knob but the metal is not budging. can anyone help please. i am also having a problem with my high beams the flash function for the high beams stopped working. they turn on when i push toward the dash, but when i push toward me to flash them, they dont work. please help, anyone[?][?]

w140 shift knob problem

i appreciate everyones help and answers. but after trying countless time to turn it, pushing down with all my weight, putting it in 2nd gear as well as all the others, i cant seem to get it off. i turned so hard that the leather is coming off teh shift knob, whereas i am under the impression that the whole shifter has to come off. please, if anyone has any feedback on this issue, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks[?][?][8]
