170K miles and one day it slipped a bit going into gear then just wouldn't do anything. Mech says to just replace it, but I am stubborn. I changed the fluid and filter and drained convderter. I found nothing to speak of in the pan as far as dibris. Still no engagement into gear. Before and after I changed the fluid, the fluid level reading was very high. Any insight? trans is 722.62

Do you have any warning lights on the dash? Does it go into gear if you rev it?

No warning lights at all. Won't go into gear even if reved. I don't know a lot about trans, but it doesn't seem to be getting fluid pumped into the rest of the trans since the reading of the fluid level shows so high. This was high before and after the fluid change. Thanks for your help.
