the appropriate tire size for
18" rims is 245 or 255/45ZR18 and if its staggered 275 or 285/40ZR18
19" rims is 245/40ZR19 and if its staggered 275/35ZR19
20" rims is 245/35ZR20 and if its staggered 275/30ZR20

that should help out people also the rim offset makes a difference and you might need fender rolling so the wheels fit perfect. the correct offset is et44 or et46

i spoke to a w140 owner who had the rims i'm after and said they were great but if he filled the tank more than half way they would rub so he's going with 265's on the rear. i'm still keen ill go for a slimer tyre on the rear like he recommended. 1670 is cheap for a wheel and trye package evn if tyres are crap

I concur

yes that's probably it. i assume you have 18x9.5 on the rear with massive 275 tryes. it's so hard to find the right ones here in Australia (small market)
yes i have the amg 18x9.5 on the rear :) i have even used goodyear 285/40zr18 and it still didn't rub but when my rear accumulators were bad the back would rub over bumps now that those are replaced its perfect.

yeah that's good. i'd love a set of staggered 18 amg monoblocks but they are all 18x8.5 x4 everywhere i look. some dude in the u.s is trying to flog a 18x8.5 set x4 which he claims came from e554matic (they used staggered). fun and games

No those are not Hammers. The AMG Hammer wheel is much different, it's one piece and is actually found on the old AMG cars from the 80's, such as the AMG Hammer coupe, which was a W124 that was beefed up by AMG. I am not sure, but I thought they made a W126 coupe into a widebody as well, just not sure if they called it the Hammer. The wheel that is shown on the sedan above is the AMG Aero II made by BBS. Super rare and super cool.

Appreciate the info. didn't know that. they are cool though. seen a few here in australia. am told they go on a w140 good because of the offset. unlike other brands with et35 can have nasty side affects. or so i'm told
