It prefers more leisurely shifts until the car is up to temp before it settles in, and it does have longer throws than modern manuals but that plus some weighted golf sticky tape (don't worry I didn't go crazy, maybe 150 grams at most) that I wrapped around the shift knob underneath the boot allows it to be driven quite smoothly. It's no stoplight racer by any means, but is torquey - I was pleasantly surprised by its ability to get out of its own way when necessary - plenty of power to get around town, merge at speed on short on ramps, really nothing left wanting in that department. I'm sure the absence of some higher weight options (powered seats, the auto trans itself, lighter motor) helps with this perception too.Incredible. How well does the 6 cylinder pull it along? How smoothly can it be shifted? And did you do the import? I heard that transatlantic car shipping costs have basically doubled recently so getting a car here all-in can be 10-12k
I bought it at an auction already imported (from Spain) and titled/registered in Illinois where I also live, so title & registration was a breeze for me. Given it's import status and age, it's exempt from pretty much everything other than paying the state for their sticker every year which is a nice benefit.
