Hi everyone. My car requires to replace a MAF sensor. The OEM number of the original MAF I removed from my car is 0000940148. But I cannot find any new MAF with this OEM number. Also, I find there are lots of MAF which OEM number is 0000940748. And it seems to fit my car? As I check the vehicle fitment, 500SE with M119.970 engine is on the fitment list. The only difference I find is 0000940148 is 5 pin but 0000940748 is 4pin. Anyone here has used 0000940748 while the original one is 0000940148? Many thanks.

the dead giveaway is the pin count being off, it's probably not going to work.
you could connect a scan tool, put the 4 pin MAF in, and see what happens,
watch the live data, see if it transmits and runs the car,
but MB would not use an extra pin and wire, if they didn't need it.
so it probably won't work,
actually I'd bet Vegas House odds, it won't work.
but there's always that 1 in a million chance...you don't know until you try...
on the downside, it may also burn up or damage one of the ECM's if it shorts it out,
trying a unit that doesn't belong on there.

Stop by your local Benz dealer parts dept. and discuss this with the parts guy.
