I've never seen cloth seats in a USA w140, let alone a coupe ! The car looks good for parts but if you want rare cloth seats this is the one !

Excellent but what could be causing this issue?

I would have said the same, but in the description, the seller says:

"we replaced the camshaft sensor, the crankshaft sensor, the Engine wiring harness, so I don't want to continue spending money blindly"

I would lean towards the EZL being the issue.
