perhaps - they look pretty nice. Do they simply stick on the outside of the mirror ? Not sure if I have a bit of carpet on them or not...will that just stick over that too?

Yes, I believe that they do stick over the carpet as well. It has 3M adhesive tape on the back.This is not real wood, but imitation wood, however, it is nearly a perfect match to the factory burl wood.
