Hey guys, just tossing up a few ideas for an air intake mod and saw a w140 air intake on ebay.

Are there any attachment problems? Has anyone done this before?
This is the type i am talking about

I really don't think it will fit..I laid one from an E420 on a 560 and it was no where near correct.

I still say modding a 560SEC air box /w the large snorkel from a 560SL air box is the way to go.

I am not sure what it would take, but lander and Axel Wulff might know the answer.
A forum search might help.
Japanese tuners used to put W140 heads on the 117 engines.

Doesnt work, not even the early CIS engine air box. If you want a decent (and cheap)intake mod, myself and Damon (Nomada) have done a mod in the past, I had a thread on it with dyno runs, I think it netted about 5-6kw more through the range.

would anything happen if you put a 560sel double air intake into a 500sel one air intake?

cool, so it doesn't throw anything off balance? I mean the car was designed to have 1 intake...I don't want it to throw anything off.
