Hello everyone i was wondering if anyone can help me out. My dad have an 88' 420SEL. The problem is that whenever he turns on his A/C or heater it seems to only blow on hi. So basically he cant put the A/C or heater on low or medium so anyone have a clue? He was thinking there might be a some sort of resister but i am not sure myself. Any ideas?

Sounds like there may be some cracked solder joints in the climate control unit (the panel with the temperature wheel). I would check it out. I had a similar problem and that is what it was.

As for the climate control he only wheel we have is the temperature wheel and it have the 5 push buttons with the extra 3 buttons to the right. You think maybe its the climate control that has gone out?

How did you get 320 posts without the Mods jumping on you to fill out your profile?

Agreed, but, sometimes if the fan blows only high, it's low on brushes.

^^^ Hmmm i see what you are saying because when i had a 89' w124 i remembered that my ac oly have a hi speed or the 4th button to the right to making it a low speed. I wonder he just tested the ac compressor to a relay plug in unit near the windshield... does the w126 have and ac relay?
