Hi guys,

i am looking for help with my clima.

I have 1982 MB 500 SEC, there was problem with clima it was blowing cold on legs hot on top or just cold but nothing what was needed.

so i found out that i was missing this part

so the original was changed to this home made dont know what :D

i put on the original put all the hoses, but i have few questions:

1) from that item goes hose to reservoir where is window washer bottle so it heats it and it dosnt get frozen in winter, but question
from where after that reservoir goes that hose??? i closed it but dont know where it should go???

2) i couldnt find the wire what has to be put on this device, from where that wire should come? how i understand this is very important
so the clima works normal

because i had there only this small wire

hope some one can help me...

Hi Elmars,

Good Morning,

It looks as though the heater water valve you have gotten is a 'DUO-valve' instead of the MONO-valve that your car seems to be wired for.. Duo-valve has two solenoid inserts .. mono-valve has but one… I think that's why you cannot find the other attachment wire. If your car has ONE temperature control, your car needs the mono-valve… If its got TWO temp controls.. the duo-valve is right for it and there will be a wire someplace nearby…

Save that one though, as its got two inserts and they are known to fail… The cheap MTC brand inserts will NOT work.

There is also the wiring connector for the auxiliary water pump up in there too...

Good Luck,

MBL

oki, yes in my car is only one clima control, so i need to look for single vale detail, do you maybe know in witch models or years i could find that mono valve?

because there are only 2 cars in latvia 500 sec, so hard to find these parts....

oki, so i need to change the red part, but still can i use the blue one???

and looks like the heater water box i cant use also because where comes out from window i have only one hole not two.

Hey Elmars,

You may use the BLUE. It is the Auxiliary Water Pump.. so thats all good….

That RED Duo or Mono Valve with the single solenoid fits darn near all W126 cars.. I would just poke around the yards 'til you find one .. Diesel, Gas.. V-8 or 6 cal.. Its a pretty universal part so you are in luck man.

Cheers,

MBL

Save the Duo-valve though… Its got two of the magnet inserts for spares. Those bad boys can fail over time… Failed = NO heat at highway speed….. Heat OK after restart or low road speed.

If you really can't find a monovalve, you could probably block off the outlet of one of the two valves and wire the connector to the control for the other valve.

No, but if you can fit the part in the car, it should work. What you have is just two valves in one package. Each is functionally identical to the one you need. The second valve is intended to feed the passenger's side of the heater core independently of the driver's side. All you need is one valve to feed the whole core. Think of the other one as a spare! ;)

That's why there are two outlets on the 126 heater core, right John?
