Hey Mister Moderators !

Any way we can get a bit of a statistics thing going showing what all us enthusiastic type MB geek forum board types drive ?

I think it would be quite interesting to see a breakdown of how many different models, engines etc etc are floating around on here !

I am sure we could do a poll result but would need to do some lists like years, models, engine size, etc etc

Waddya think ?

How would you propose such a thing be managed? In your profile there's a field to list the vehicles you drive, but as you can see, mine also includes non-MB vehicles. I think what you're proposing would require discrete fields, possibly with a drop-down menu of MB models that the members would select. I'm not sure the site architecture allows such a thing. This isn't really a 124 topic, so if other folks want to chime in, please do so, and then we'll close this out in a bit and forward the results on to site management.

Thanks,
Casey

Hey Casey
Yeah I follow what your saying.
I think I have come to look at Benzworld as more of a "forum come home base" for all W124 driver's. Somewhere to come for a browse and hang out rather than just a technical forum when we have a problem.
The fact that we are from around the world gives us a common stamping ground.

Not having started a Poll before would a poll work in this instance ?
Can you enter multiple selection lists for questions ?

Anyway if you think it's not appropriate by all means give it the heave ho [email protected]@@@

Ok, so you might want to go ahead and start a new thread and post a poll in order to get at the info you describe. The site's poll feature allows up to 30 different options and multiple choices. I haven't ever confirmed whether there are more than thirty 124 models, but I'm pretty sure you can fit most of the versions our members own.

Yeah it's tricky - couldnt ask as many questions as I would have liked but what the heck
it's a bit of fun and it will be interesting to see.
I am betting mostly 300 sedan in the USA.

I own 2 Cabs, 2 "T" model wagons.

If you are only looking for range of vehicles owned here, this will give that.

But if you want a sense of how frequently any model occurs, the poll will fudge that a bit.

Yeah the poll feature is not exactly rigged for accurate results
it was more to give everyone an idea of what the most popular models are
and in fact how many we have (roughly) in terms of people who bother to fill it in and frequent the forum.
I originally had engine sizes, wheel sizes etc but ran out of option questions LOL
Thought it would be a bit of fun to see as I think ours is one of the busiest forums on benzworld and the other place. There are busier ones but I reckon we have a pretty close knit community due to our common interest in preserving a great motor vehicle class! Thanks for taking part mate !

"popular" ?

Place a 300e and a 500e side by side, see which is more popular. :)

I know what you mean tho.
