I have been designing a w124 coupe (300CE) to include a 5 liter M119 engine. Will sacrifice a w124 400e to hopefully make it easier. Will replace the front of the CE with the V-8 w124 frame, wiring harness etc. Will install E500 front fenders and perform a similar mod (widebody) to the rear wheel wells. Install some nice Recaro Classic C's and be done with it. My local indie MB specialist says that's the way to go. Another thought is to get the 6 speed manual transmission and pedals from a Chrysler Crossfire that bolts up to the M113 and install a 5 or 5.5 liter version of that motor into a CE. More work but that would be the ultimate CE. Much better than a Turbo on a M103 IMO. Both would be "Frankenstein" versions of w124 coupe but on the other hand they will be products of imagination and modern engineering/modifications. Mike

With a lot of cleaning and re structuring. I wound up closing over all the jack holes afterwards as it's just a cronic dirt gatherer and a bound to happened rust area.
