Okay, changed the lower ball joints in the coupe, and it seems the uppers are a bit loose. At speed sometimes, I can feel a little flutter, especially where road surface changes. The tech let me feel the assembly while up in the air, and as you move the steering, you can feel a little "something".

I can buy aftermarket upper control arm assy mfg. by Hamburg Tech for about $40 / pair.
I have a mechanic who can do the install quite reasonable.

Are the Hamburg Tech parts a good choice?
I hate to think of anything "Far-East" implanted into my Teutonic Auto.

Car is 1981 300CD (nono-turbo) 256K miles.

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

I have just changed the right upper control arm. The brand I got is Lemförder and it is made in Germany. It was about 850 SEK = 120 USD.
To change it was quite easy.

I think the new ones I got (which have yet to be installed) are Bilstein/Febi. No idea on that Hamburg Tech one you have. I feel this is a major (and it is!) and critical part of the suspension I wouldn't want to compromise cost for. $50 at AutohausAZ for one
