Any issues I should be aware of when looking at a 75 that won't go into 3rd?

One of the first cars I've looked at. Owner wants $600 for it. What is the approx. cost & difficulty of replacing it.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance (1st post, hopefully of many --woo hoooo!).

if its changing through the rest of the gears ok it's probably a fairly minor problem, having said that the boxes are fairly tough so a second hand replacement shouldnt be to hard to find, I dunno what the situation is in the states but over here i'd only buy one with a fault if the rest of it was good and the price was right, they are not common cars but theres always another one for sale.

They seem to be plentiful in the Pacific Northwest part of the States. At least 2-3 pop up on Craigslist a day here in various states of condition. There is a C like yours down the street from my house that has been sitting in a guys yard. I keep waiting for him to put a sale sign in it but no luck yet...

I have one from a 1976 300D that is available but it's in Los Angeles. I presume you're in Portland or Sea-town?
