Hi all,

Just curious. I read somewhere that The Pagoda has the same engine as a W108.

Does this mean if that i wanted engine parts for the Pagoda I can harvest it from W108?

I am very interested in a Pagoda so I would like to know more about it.

Regards,

BC

In most cases yes this will work. Some of the accessories and coolant lines are mounted differently and the second set of 3 stamped numbers will differ (130.980, 130. 983, etc.) but it is essentially a drop in exchange.

This news is most welcome.

How about W113's before the 280SL, like the 230SL and 250SL?

What donor cars are suitable for these?

I have an offer for a 280SL here in Malaysia and its just a very sweet one!

I am thinking along the lines of appreciation. What do you think a pagoda would be worth in the next 10 to 15 years?

Would they be Gullwing money?

The short answer is NO. There were too many made to achieve gull wing prices. There were approximately 50,000 280 SL's made. In comparison there we're 1,450 gullwings
