[250SE coupe]

Did all US version W111 coupes have the rear license plate lights vertically mounted on the body (between the tail lights and license plate) rather than mounted on the bumper?

I've seen several U.S W111 with license plate lights on the bumper.

Can anyone enlighten me on this? What U.S year models did the W111 have these lights on the body and bumper?

i have them mounted vertical on body.........1967 250SE coupe......i thought i saw bumper ones on sedans.....i maybe wrong.

USA versions have the license plate lights mounted on the body ....period....Euro market car's have the bumper mounted light for the rear plate. If you were not mistaken about the US version's that you saw with bumper mounted rear license plate lights then someone altered them ......

Grez, would you be generous enough to share a pic of the lamps that you have on your 250SE.

I just ordered a set from Sun Valley and I am not even sure I am getting the right ones.

just curious COUPE...u in socal?.......i was scavenging parts at a local "pick ur parts" bout a year or so ago and snagged some spare pieces for myself.....just to have spares........i am not sure if i have extra body plate lamps.......i might.........i have to look in my pile o crap.......if the ones u ordered arent right, let me know........i know for a fact i dont have the bumper one tho........i didnt look for parts that arent on my car.......take a pic of yours.......lets see what u got.......what lamps did u have on yours before u got it........or did it even have lamps on the car when u got it?.......i usually work on the car on the weekends.........ill take a look see if i got.
