Hello BW folks,
I would like to present a few photos from restoration w111 coupe of my colleague.
Currently the body is after water striping and we starting a real game.

big job , but looks nice! One of my favorite body styles. You have a nice shop set up - Im sure it makes it a bit easier!
BTW - what is "water striping" High power water spray ?

Thanks for kind words :) Yes, it's a cleaning were abrasive medium is a water over high pressure, about 3000 bar. The main advantages over classic technology are the body is completly without abrasive residue, it also metal does not ripple, and the last one but most important U can work on bare body for about 6 months cause corrsion inhibitors are added.

Looks like a tough job but so glad you are taking the time and money on such a classic vehicle. Looking forward to more pictures as you progress.

Beauty!

I didn’t know the coupes were ever designated with a “b”. I thought the “b” was for the sedan w111. I think there was a “c” designation and went through the study several years ago. Maybe it’s time for me to do it again.

The " b " designation identifies the car as being later than the original 220SE Ponton coupe or Cab. which is a W128 body, as opposed to the 220SEb car which is a W111.

So is this the start of your journey? All those welds were from a previous owner?
