I've replaced my worn alternator with a new 90amp with internal regulator. Can anyone tell me how to wire this and bypass the external voltage regulator please? New alternator has large bolt and small bolt on the back. I have small blue wire, main charge wire with rubber cap, then the original connector from the back of the old alternator with 3 wires, red, red and blue and black. Thanks

BTW if anyone is looking to upgrade their W108 alternator, I purchased a remanufactured unit for a 1987 VW Quantum 2.2 L5 and its almost a direct fit, just needed to grind a small part, about the size of a small coin and about 3 to 4 mm deep, to fit the adjuster fitment. Once I get the wiring sorted I'll explain how i did it to help others, as it's a simple upgrade to a higher amp alternator, which will help anyone installing a decent audio set up or airbags etc

What a fluke, would you be interested in selling me the seats/door cards off the car you bought? The white set. Have just finished doing my car up and this would finish it off nicely. Thought I'd try. Thanks
