W108 License Plate fasteners

I finally got the plate for my w108 to be totally legal and legitimate, ready for the street, maybe even charge up my working AC. LOL. (Heater fan INOP, but who needs that in summer?)

Anyway, I've been hanging my license plate with wires by the enormous holes in the license plate holes. It seems to me that there should be threaded screws. I've contemplated putting plastic wood screw sheaths (like a drywall fastener), but thought I should ask how this SHOULD be, instead of making up a new hack.

Thoughts?

The rear reg plates are fixed on with rivnuts .And are fitted with a special tool , but can be fixed in with a piece of all thread nut and washers . It is to squash the rivnut in to the trunk lid . These parts are only obtainable from Mercedes .They will come with the four brass screws to fix the number plate on to the trunk lid . Not the same as the ones you can buy from the stores ,as they are hexaganal in shape at the base .This is to hold them in the hole that are in the trunk so they dont turn after they are squashed in with the tool .
The post i put above was for the older reg plate holders . I can see now yours is on the fuel flap door . Pictures tell more than words
