Hi,
I am looking on finding front end alignment specs for a 1979 450SL! The DB Maintenance CD references to section 40-320 in the service manual. However is this section not included on the CD. Anyone has the missing part of the Manual?

Mavis does a 4 wheel ali. for $79.00 bucks

Any shop that doesn't use the spreader bar and the tool to lock the steering box likely isn't going to give you a proper allignment. Might be close enough if that's all you want.

front wheel camber 0deg +10'/-20'
toe-in (rolled) 2+- 1mm or 0deg 20' +- 10'1)
track difference angle at 20deg lock of inner wheel -0deg 15' +- 40'2)

meas. in straight ahead position3) 3deg 40' +- 20'
caster __________________________________________
meas.over lock 3deg 15' +- 20'


per. diff of control arm between left and right 5mm




perm deviation in hieght of pivot point
position between pitman arm and steer leve 4 mm



pivot point position = diff in hieght "a" between axis of bearing bolt for lower control arm and bottom edge of pitman arm and inter. steering level or ball pin


10.5 + 4mm _2mm

(8.5 to 14.5mm)







and i'm never typing that again and i have no idea what any of it ment.

Yes I had the same problem. The reason the CD is missing that section is because the chassis manual is also missing that section. I got my alignment specs online from a place I searched for using Google. Had to pay ~ $7 to get them. Unfortunately Ive since lost them.
