Hi all.

Ive now owned my 01 108cdi for 6 months and all is going well apart from the really annoying warning beep you get when you open the door  ! Is there any way to disable this without removing the dashboard and smashing the bloody thing to bits with a (large) hammer ? Or is it located behind the clocks and a simple job to remove/disable without upsetting the rest of the electrics ?

Cheers

Very good my irish friend, but it beeps even if the lights are off ! You may have a point tho, it may be a problem with the light switch ?
Maybe a dodgy switch or the previous owner messed about with the wiring to sound if the door isnt closed properly...either way should be an easy fix...beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.............:D

I have the exact same problem, and my dash lights are also permanently on too! i can sympathise as its VERY annoying! i have checked all door switches, light switches and wiring and all are fine so i think my problem could well be the clocks. If you find a solution please do update as i am very interested to know if you find your problem.

I know this is a silly question but have you checked the fog light switch? If you leave this on you will hear the noise, I get this after every mot because they leave it on.

Yeah, fog lights have been checked and double checked. The fogs work perfectly and with the switch in the middle (orange indicator light is off and all fog lights are off and lights are off) the beeper still sounds when either of the front doors are opened. Is there any way i can bridge out the wiring to the fog switch to eliminate it from the equation properly?

One thing you could try is to unplug the fog switch and if it still happens try to unplug the stalks by removing the fusebox from under the steering wheel, be sure to leave all of the other wires connected to the fuse box and just unplug it from the stalks. If you still get the beep then you know it is not related to the lights.

Hope this helps

Turned out my problem was the clocks. Got a second hand set of eBay, threw them in and all was good, no more beeping. All i have to do now is get my mileage corrected to read same as original clocks. Happy Days!
