Data cards are not free anymore - well, at least not to Australians. Mercedes are now charging $190 aussie or 130 euro each for them... :frown Not sure what the cost is in the USA.

2/24/18 they were free. As you have correctly updated they are no longer free. In the US somewhere around $150 now. :crybaby2:

And this is why the former owner wondered why I was so obsessed with making sure they protected the two data cards for my 220SEb....

That is not a 107 VIN. Format would be 14 digits. 107 024 ?2 000000. 107 =Chassis. 024=model - 450SLC. ?= right or left hand drive 1 or 2. Transmission 2 for Automatic. 000000=sequential production (chassis) number. VIN should be stamped into the upper radiator cross support. US models have a VIN plate riveted to the A pillar visible through the windshield and a Federal Safety Certification plate with build month/year and VIN riveted to the driver B pillar. There is a very active 107 forum here https://www.benzworld.org/forums/r-c107-sl-slc-class.29/ We should be able to narrow down the year there.
