I searched and searched clicked every link anyone posted in here to decode and nothing worked I'm sorry if I posted this is the wrong spot but I didn't see a section for vins
If anyone could help me decode and get a value with 105K Miles White that be awesome I have zero knowledge on Mercedes and so does my dad but we are trying to get them running and resell later but 3 of them are clearly parts cars 280 but if anyone could help I'd greatly appreciate it

Move this to the r107 forum. Lots of people like me that have been around a while want to know how Jim is doing and would be glad to help his cars have a good future.

How do I move it?
A moderator can move it. Here’s the thread @rowdie started when he bought the car.

Yes I been reading it only issue is that car is the same car I got but why does it pull up as a 83 when I run the Vin not a 84? Also the front bumper is different rowdie has a lot I mean a lot of parts in box new or used in tots through the house and garage that man sure love his Mike Hard Lemonade and Beer 😄

Lastvin.com and some other sites might tell you how it rolled off the MB line, but that is not AMG because AMG was aftermarket back then, a custom tuner that sold an owner anything they wanted. I believe Rowdie bought this one because it had papers documenting it back to the “conversion” whenever that was. The papers are probably in the house somewhere.

Did you buy the house from Jim’s daughter? I believe he is living with her in Arkansas or somewhere like that.

Not sure who we bought it from my grandmother bought it my deal with her is to clean it out but unfortunately if papers are in the house they are gone sadly because the kids went through it and then my gma works did the same and through a bunch of crap away. My deal is clean the garage out & barn clean up the cars put them back together and sell 5 out of 6 I get one for payment (I picked the white one) also I deleted the Facebook post due to Charleston and that guy arguing I also blocked the other guy I don't put up with negative behavior from people over something I'm doing when it clearly nothing wrong with it.

Car flippers will swarm and try to make lowball offers. I understand Rowdie had been parting out a 1972 or 1973 for several years. I might suggest posting that one as a parts car / scrap metal if it’s still in the collection of the 6.

Do you have the titles to all of them? Or are they being sold without titles?

I bought this car! I purchased it off bringatrailer.com last month. Plan to fully restore. Would love to connect to previous owner.

good luck getting in touch with @rowdie .

He is focused on other things these days. He’s a great guy, just not focused much on these cars anymore. We do all miss him and the generous help he provided to so many.

Thank you for responding. I have been reading some posts on this forum and he seemed liked a knowledgeable guy. I wish him all the best! Totally understand with circumstances.

I was curious If @rowdie had any of the paperwork on the car. If he knew anything about wiring.
