Hi all,
I have a 2007 Viano 639 and am trying to re-code the sliding door contacts.
It said in the EPC that the original door contacts "the old part must no longer be installed" and the after fitting the new part on each it must be recoded with T19.
Having access to a MB SDconnect c4 (but not being familiar with it) I have tried repeatedly to find where to enter the update code.
Will anyone able to do it, please point me in the right direction, or tell me where to obtain the information, I've read through all of MB's instruction manuals without success.
regards,
djl

I wouldnt have thought that chaging a set of door contacts would require recoding ??? your only changing a set of contacts for another of the same sort. MB have simly replaced them with a new variant . There is very little that could possibly be changed within a set of door contacts that would make them incompatible with the existing vehicle. Have you had issues with them hence why you changed them ?? T19 is the code for electric sliding door so that bit is right .

hi,
The instructions are clear "they must be changed and re-coded".
I don't have electric doors, but I do have a mass of problems, thats why I wanted to recode the contactors to get a known problem out of the way.
I had left the Viano for a 2 or 3 months without running due to my brother being seriously ill.The battery had discharged and the ligts flashed to indicate that, so I charged the battery up on the bench. When I switched it on, all the outside lights came on,and would not respond to the switch. Many of the things wouldn't work, like Horn,Fuel gauge, etc.
I put the Diagnostics on and did a "Quick Scan". It showed a mass of Faults some of which are patently not faulty.
I checked every fuse, relay and door contacts etc. assuming that they may have had water in.Which is why I looked at the EPC, for the door contactors as I have had minor problems with them over the years. The vehicle has done very few miles, due to my brothers condition.
I am at a loss to go further except to keep reading to get me 'up to speed' I'd very much appreciate any help offered.

djl
