Did the valve covers at 10nm & the breather covers at 5nm with new bolts will the breather covers be ok ?
Don't know what the breather covers are; I have an M119. I did get a respect for overtightening them though on my old W124/M103 I stripped a thread on one - had to helicoil. I think the official spec for the M103 was 8 Nm but who can measure that? Better a bit too loose than too tight.

Worse comes to worse with a 1/4" drive just get them a little snug. The 1/4" drive has a lot less leverage so you will get a better feel for overtightening. But 10 Nm for the valve cover bolts should be fine.

You should be fine.

Officially for M113:

Valve cover is 10 nm
Breather cover is 4 nm

The W124 valve cover is 9 nm . But mine is set to 6 nm ..So if i need to remove it later on i can .Then lock it down to 9 nm ..Keeping my eye for leaks at the same time ..My friend pulled his valve cover down without a torque wrench, and oil is every where .

Thanks for your advice guys I greatly appreciate it , I have another question, when I got the car I had an inspection done the guy said it had a valve cover leek ( I only spoke to him on the phone ) while I was doing the gaskets I also took off the throttle body to give it a clean in the gap between the cams under the air intake there was quite a lot of oil ? Rest of the engine & engine bay was very clean , would a bad valve cover gasket leek into the top of the block? Could only see this when the throttle body was removed , dhavent driven the car to much since buying it so haven't smelled any burning oil
