Most valve cover breather systems simply use the intake (vacuum) to pull excessive gas/pressure from the engine. Some oil buildup/vapor is usually common, but in my opinion it is necessary because excess pressure will reduce seal/gasket life as well as many other things.

It also sucks hot air from the engine compartment, and removes the origanal units ability to presurize the air box.

This is a different set up but hopefully you will get the idea.

Yah it looks cool but the original setup seems much more effective.
