I am usually a pretty nice driver in my slk because I want to show the world that slk drivers are nice people. Today I did stray from that rule of mine and got someone else in trouble. (they deserved it so read on)

I was on the 51 freeway here in Phoenix Arizona where the speed limit is 55mph. I was going 80 in the fast lane and the guy behind me in a Honda Civic SI started honking his horn and flashing his lights so once the lanes were clear I turned on my blinker and started to move over.

He pulled up next to me flipping the bird and I didnt wanna flip him back because at 80mph I dont feel safe unless I have both hands on the wheel and im looking forward. He sat right next to me yelling and what not. I could barely hear him but he was getting on my nerves so I needed something to do. Well I drive this freeway every day at least twice so I know where my KA K X and L band radar blips are and the KA ahead was most deff a cop. I looked over at Honda ricer boy and yelled race me bitch ass GO! we both took off from about 80 mph! I got a jump on him at the start but he krept up quick. Then as we came around a turn my Valentine One signal got stronger!

I switched lanes and was still punching it to the fullest and the civic was going faster and faster. At this point we are at about 120. I looked behind me and had no one around so I slowed down rather rapidly and he sped off (I am assuming thinking to himself IVE WON!" but to his dismay on the left hand side of the freeway with an open shot was a motor cycle cop pinging him at about 120 in 55. I then passed the cop a bit later going 55 on the dot and he was packin his stuff for a chase!.

Promptly after I passed the cop he flew by me and pulled that civic over and I honked and flashed my lights at him.

I feel just simply Awesome right now. My day is going just great!

LOL !

Got the loser !

Just be careful when racing. It could turn real bad, real quick when something goes wrong.

Great story. I had something similar to me driving through Mississippi a number of years ago. There were two cars caravaning I was in the left lane as it was the fastest moving lane but still going too slow. They could see a line of cars in front of me but insisted on tail gating and flashing their lights. Tried to warn them about the radar detector going off but as soon as they had the opprotunity they took off. A while later I see them on the side of the rode with the cop pulling handcuffs out of his trunk.

George Hayduke would be proud of you, Deathy! [:D]

Your very enjoyable story proves that you CAN have your cake and eat it too. [8D] I'd love to see a photo of the guy's face when he realized he was nailed... Precious...

You did well not to lose your cool, and even better by teaching this jerk that it's not prudent to screw with a professional!!! [:D]

same thing happened to me last week. On my route to work i drive along a dual lane section for about 2 miles. Its only a 30mph limit as there are lots of junctions etc, and a school. Of course, people speed along this road, and there have been a couple of deaths recently. As the road goes into one lane, the usual idiots try and race to get into the gap, and this is where the cops hide. Typically, they aim their guns at the young guys in sports cars, and not the women driving f***ing MPVs with their kids in.
Anyway, few days back I was driving along at 30mph, being followed very close by a woman in said MPV. As we approached the end of the dual-lane section, she was desperate to get in front of me, but i slowly speeded up to about 38, knowing that the cops were there. She also speeded up, then at the right moment I backed off, letting her speed into the gap. BLING.. the camera caugh her, and the cop pulled her over. I giggled as I went passed. Reason i did it, cause the women are first to moan when a kid gets run-over on that road, but 90% of the speeders are those women.

A very similar thing [but at not-so-similar speeds] happened with me 3 years ago. Of course, my Cobra saved me big time, while the driver of the 3-series Bimmer had to get it from the cop.
Needless to say, I had to honk while passing the wretched soul :)

Deathy: Not that we want to rub it in a bit for your adversary (yeah, right), but what will the jerk's ticket come to in your estimation? Precious!!!! [8D]

I have a different story for you guys...

One month ago I was driving back from the south of France to Paris after the new year party in my family.

I was driving at a safe 165 kph. Since the speed limit is at 130 kph in France that give me a chance to slow down when I see cops or whatever and being caught not too high over the limit.

Suddenly a good old 500E appeared in my mirror, all lights on and sticked to my rear bumpber, trying to push me faster.

I let him pass me (I never want to race, especially when my wife is on board). And a few km later I passed him again... cause he was stopped in the middle of a lane with an exploded tire.

That's not fun because that guy was really dangerous, and this should remind us that before driving at high speed we shall always check the tires air pressure.
