Hello Guys,
I am trying to help my dad with his beloved car that he does not want to part with.
The car is a 1998 CL600. A while ago, the car started to not shift properly from 1 to 2 during kickdown and the engine starts hesitating at that moment. Is there a Vacuum that controls any of that other than normal vaccum in the intake? This may sound stupid I am asking this question out of this reason: 1 month ago the central locking gave up so we replaced the vacuum pump. That day, everything went back to normal for one day.

Is there any connection between the transmission/engine and the central locking vaccum system?

The engine has no problems to rev smoothly to redline when rolling in Neutral.

Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

No, there are no vacuum components on the 722.6 box, you have engine vacuum for the headlamps if non xenon and a feed to the cab for part of the aircon, this is helped out from the PSE pump in the trunk.

Seeing as it burnt out how long does the pump run for after you lock the car or use the air con, it should be no more than 5 seconds
