There is a single vac line that comes off a connection on the engine under the exhaust manifold (near the alternator) and extends up to a vacuum solenoid on the firewall in front of the battery near the plastic coolant tank. What is this line?

I recently found it disconnected at the engine, so I replaced the black rubber connecting link and secured the hose at the engine with a nice and tight fit, but now it is continually being blown off the vacuum solenoid on the firewall despite a nice and tight fit there as well. Any ideas why this would be getting blown off its connection on the solenoid?

I don't notice any performance issue aside from a possible change in the cold start revs.

Thanks in advance,

Todd
