My 1992 S320 has vacuum door but it doesnt work, Ive tracked a leak down to the lumber bags which Ive fitted new ones (£26 each). Does any one know where the resiviour is, as I need to trace the air line back to its sourse. Im sure the other end has come off as well. Does any one have a manual for this car?

The pump you refer to is located in the trunk o the left side just to the left of the gas tank. You will have to remove the left side cover and the cover to the front of the trunk. The pump just pulls out. You will see a power cable and several red air lines going to it. You will want to check fuses in rear on right side to ensure that is still good. If you need to replace contact George @ Performance Analysis Company in USA 1-865-482-9175 I just paid $195.00 US for a rebuilt. List is about $915.00 US.
Good Luck

vacum pump

I had mine replaced, and took the old one from the dealer just to see what is inside. It is not easy to open, and after that that what can you replace repair?
there are circuit boards and etc. I went to electronics shool 35 years ago, I closed it up and shrugged my shoulders. I would suggest a rebuit unit!

I forgot to tell you there are no manuals for this car
the only info I have been able to get is a intro to service which highlights all the new features for this car, a few hundred pages and some service bulletins also a few hundred pages that deal with various subjects. The vacum pump that controls the AC,door locking(not the assist) and the lumbar supports resides under the rear seat on the passenger side in a foam rubber holder. The seat is held down by releases and dont forget to disconnect the seat heaters if you have them and then remove the seat

You can reboot the computer built into the vacuum pump by removing and replacing fuse #9 in the trunk , but it won't work for long. The best fix is to have the unit exchanged for a rebuilt one. George Murphy says that there is a microprocessor in the electronics part of the pump that goes bad. His price is $ 295.00 plus a refundable core charge of $100.00.
