Currently I'm in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia... Comparing these benzos around here and the US is rather interesting... I'm seeing a lot of C-E-S... models, ect... Most of these cars having a 2.0L engine... Been seeing C200s, E200s, some of which are 180, 230, a couple 320s, rarely see 500s-600s. You'd have to be a rich millionaire to get your hands on a 2.0L or higher vehicle. Hope to post pictures up soon! In the meantime, I'll be enjoying this nice tropical climate! Farewell Benz members!

While you're there, see if you can find the plans for one of these 'happy toilets'.

===============================

Malaysian State to Offer 'Happy Toilets'

Tue Feb 22, 9:57 AM ET World - AP Asia

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - A Malaysian state will soon build public toilets equipped with piped music and newspapers for people to enjoy while using the bathroom.

Officials in the northeastern state of Kelantan on Tuesday announced that "Happy and Healthy Toilets" would be built in popular spots, with facilities "guaranteed to make users happy," Malaysia's national news agency Bernama reported.

State public administration official Takiyuddin Hassan said the toilets, to be completed within three months, would have newspapers so that "users can keep up with current issues while performing their business, while being entertained by music."

People would also need to wear special slippers provided in the toilets to maintain hygiene, Takiyuddin was quoted as saying by Bernama.

It was not clear how many such toilets would be constructed.

Welcome to Malaysia MashiMaro !!, should email me, I'm in K.Lumpur too (my hometown).Zeaqq, contact me next time u're in K.L ..I'll buy u a drink at KLCC :) .

Yep, you're right, big benz only owned by millionaires in this country, brand new S320 will cost something like MYR500,000.00 (USD 125,000.00), as for the road tax also expensive , 420 SEC owner will have to fork out something like MYR 12000 (USD 3000).

Anyway, benz is worth it, no matter at what cost.

We were in Kuala Lumpa a few weeks back. Every other car out there was made by Proton, including all the taxis. Oh, there were a few Mopeds too ;)

I saw one w126 - a 420SE - mint, black, lowered with clear corners and looking like an amasing contrast next to all the other little cars on the roads... I will post some picks when I find them.

In Malaysia, are there a lot of American cars? Like Ford and Caddies?
I've only seen 2 Cadillacs in Europe... doubt there are many in South East Asia.

Also, the Fords I've seen are different than the Ford's in US. The only similar cars I've seen are the Explorer and Focus.. the others are totally different models. i.e. Ford Mondeo.

Ford Mondeo...
Snibble, please don't use language like that on BenzWorld! Heheh.

I see 100's of those bloody things every day!

Otherwise known as 'Ford Mundaino'.

Where's the 'throw up' smilie? [xx(]
Mondeo... there, I said it[:p]

These cars are not that bad.. the diesel version is pretty fast too.

sorry for hijacking the thread... back to the original discussion, which I think was Malaysia

Yep, snibble was right, no Cadillacs in Malaysia. Ford is mazda in this part of the world ( Its a joint venture between Ford and Mazda= Ford Far East ), so they're just a small sedan . The big one is Ford Ranger (4WD). Chevy is Daewoo here, also a small sedan. Oh ya, proton is everywhere.. they're our national car , Mitsubishi then and now Lotus engineering help us to built them.

I guess American cars are way too big for our roads/parking areas , expensive road taxes also another limiting factor. But I think there should be several American Cars in Thailand, they have more variety than us.

Benz is by far the biggest sedan in Malaysia. [8D]

I have many friends in Thailand. Years ago, I helped import about a dozen Lincolns and Cadillacs. Now, they just laugh about it. Over the years, American cars have fallen out of favor for ligh line Italian, English, and German cars. Money never entered into their thoughts.

Back online once again... Now in Pinang... So hard to get internet access on my laptop or else I'd post some pictures. I've been seeing many E200s out there... It's soo great to see so many of these w126s in great condition out here. Especially with mud guards on the rear tires. I'm wondering if they come stock on these vehicles. I saw a couple S320s, all driven by rich daddies... HAHAHA I also saw a 280SLC in the best condition ever... Wish I had my digi cam to take that... I saw just one blue A180 out in Kuala Lumpur. I'll try to post pictures the next internet cafe I go to, that's if they let me use my own laptop. Farewell benzworld members.
