Latest Acquisition is a 1995 S600 Sedan.

The car came from a fellow forum member I advised back in 2012 to acquire. He called me up to say it was time to move on and asked if I would be interested in receiving it, with 206,000 miles on the odometer.

At first I was thinking I don’t need another w140/m120 example, but then I thought the high mileage actually proves my thought that this is one helluva car and one that has high mileage might prove my point.
This one sure does! Meet Methuselah, the name I gave this gem, for all the right reasons!

After driving the car for a few days, it is amazing how tight and well running it is.

Do we have any other high-mileage W140’s with V12 motors on the Forum?

2 years ago, someone under the forum name "bk1" registered and announced the purchase of a 1997 S600 with 340000 miles:

I recall seeing some high-mileage examples on ebay.
Here on the forums, member myarmar has documented 600sel engine rebuild at 230k and the inside of the engine looked like then:

This is what he said in response to someone seeking advise regarding timing chain wear:

How did they diagnose timing chain? Did the remove covers and used dial indicator? In my engine after 230k miles timing chain was like new and guides had just minor wear.
User Joe-V12 also has many km's on his car and has shared many pictures in the sticky-photo section.

Well, of course Monsieur Stryker!

As you know, my M120 is now approaching 180,000 miles and just drove from the very snowy great white North to San Diego without as mere as a hiccup. For those of you who may not know, this M120 also proves Stryker's theory as I bought it at 110k miles and other than a new transmission that MAVA and I determined it would need when we bought it, it has basically performed flawlessly crossing USA and the continent 4 times since without ever breaking down, or a sweat.

To date, other than oil changes and brakes, under my ownership it has only needed a battery, rear differential fluid change (well not needed, but MAVA suggested it), new accumulators and in terms of maintenance well, er, nothing... I did also put a new OE windshield on it. Oh and I bought some new OE floor mats and a new wiper blade, as you can't buy the inserts on their own any more.

It was a one lady owned V12 before me and she pampered it.

It should be at 200,000 by end of 2021...
