Say I was to try burning it in my engine at about a 20:1 or 20:2 ratio. What kind of adverse effects should I expect? Is this a really bad idea?

so 1-2 gallons per tank? what can it do. shoot these things will burn just about anything...
you might want to filter it first...
what else? keep an extra primary on hand just incase?
good luck- post result!

no one i have read about that did that reported any of the problems u mention.
in fact they didn't even report clogged primary filter.
if you think about it, it is pretty well diluted.

That's what I was thinking (what you said about it being pretty diluted), however I just wanted to hear if anybody has tried it or knows of any problems. Do you think I could burn an even higher ratio, say 20:5?

Some say, if there are some
small metal particles in the oil
and if they don't get filtered out
properly they could eventually
give the injection pump and the
injectors problems.
But those I know that burn it
don't seem to have a problem.

Wouldn't you think most of the metal particles would have been filtered out by the oil filter? Anything that's left should theoretically be caught by the fuel filters on the car. The people you know that burn UMO, how much do they mix into a tank of fuel?
