Driver's side UCA ball joint rubber boot is torn. Should I replace both sides or just the failed one? Should I replace the ball joints too?

Replace one with the problem, check other side for play. Upper ball joint is part of UCA. Are you asking about lower ball joint? Front or rear?

Front driver's side. Yes, I was wondering if I should replace the lower ball joint while there!

I would recommend doing both uppers. You may find yourself needing an alignment as well so doing both then the alignment might save time and $$$ down the road

Uppers are pretty easy. Unless the bolts are rusted then you'll have pull out the saw :poop:
