Hey, any updates on this?
Hey Guys!
Let me just start off by saying dude "Oshkoshbigjosh" You're freaking Awesome for digging into this as far as you did! This is my 4th C32 and while owning every single one of them I had always prayed for the fuel pumps to not go out because of the cost of the repair and no concrete part numbers for just replacement fuel pumps! Once again awesome job nailing it down! I just ordered two fuel pumps part numbers as follows
Main: Bosche 0986580129 (7.22013.02 this number is also engraved on the pump) And Feeder: 7.21088.62.0 to summarize it for the next guy.
Previous owner had a smaller pulley/tune and probably his mechanic thought it'd be hilarious to put in c320's pumps, car drives slower than heck don't exactly know who was at fault! I bought it under assumption that it was the boost pressure sensor causing the issue since that's what CEL was about replaced that but still lacks power! IC pump kicks in fine! Pulled the pumps out cross referenced the numbers BOOM 320's pumps! Nonetheless I will confirm in few weeks ( since they're coming frm UK) whether or not these pumps with the part numbers above are correct! Thanks again for the head start!

Appreciate finding this thread too, I am in the same boat currently, swapped everything from a wrecked 02 C32 sedan into my 02 C320 wagon and had been using the 320 pump and filter/regulator still with no noticible side effects or loss of power but wanted to get the 32 pumps swapped over anyways. Pulled them a few weeks ago finally and after sitting for a year, turns out the main pump is dead. They're also 20 years old at this point so replacing them seems like the smart thing to do.

I had done some similar research which mentioned some possibilities but never found this thread till now when someone linked it off fb. Thank you OP!

BTW awesome job on swapping it into a wagon!! But I'd be cautious while doing the spirited rides that non amg chassis aren't as rigid as the amg sedans! look into it whether you are able to swap structural rigidity parts over! I'm not sure what those are exactly but definitely worth the effort! I am pretty sure you already know this but still worth the mention since its a safety thing!

Difference between normal MB and AMG's is mostly in the suspension, if you're talking about structural rigidity. There is no special attention paid to the frame or the superstructure of the vehicle.

BMW does have a history of subtly altering the superstructure for M cars versus the normal versions, but not MB.

AFAIK the SL65 Black Series, AMG-GT, G65 6x6, and the McLaren do have additional superstructure reinforcing, but those cars are also one-off limited production vehicles with absurdly high price tags.

"Normal" AMG's are nothing more than the base model underneath with different engine/transmission and different suspension components.

we do have a c320 4matic & a C240 4matic in our family and this is my 4th C32! while I was working on the C240 replacing the shifter module I was under the car I noticed it didn't have the same metal sheeting in the tunnel on the frame as my c32! It might have been a protective heat shield not sure! but everything looked almost skinner and thinner If I remember correctly! rear axles seemed skinner so did the drive shaft and the body it self felt like it had a missing layer! not sure my apologies if I'm wrong!

Everything you mentioned is the additional AMG stuff that they add to the frame. That's different compared to actually modifying the frame of the car.

Hey, any updates on this?
Wow this whole time I thought my reply went through. This whole time I thought that I helped the C32 gang out.

I am sorry I never got back to you.

Yes it absolutely fixed my fuel pump problem. Changing it out was easy and I have had zero issues since the replacement. I ended up not useing the smaller pump because my housing didnt have the adapter for it so you can get away with running the main pump alone for as cheap as youre able to find the pump. This is a definitive guide to replace your pump for less than 150 dollars. DO NOT PAY THE RIDICULOUS AMOUNT THAT MBZ CHARGES TO FIX YOUR FUEL PUMP! DO IT YOURSELF AND USE THAT MONEY ON A TUNE OR HEADERS OR A PULLEY IDK

I am so glad it helped you. I was tired of the threads just not including this important information because a replacement was way overpriced. This is a 100%fix to any fuel pump issues. Replacement is simple with few tools need. My car has been running with no fuel issues. Again, thank you for your feedback and I am glad it helped the community. It took me a few days to gather all the info and foregin forum threads with bits of info to piece together

Hey, I just read your post regarding your swap and thought your wagon was originally a 32 wagon. Dude, do you have a guide on a swap?? I am currently trying to sell my C32 I have absolutely taken care of but people seem to think the high miles means ticking time bomb. I'm genuinely considering swapping it and just continuing owning and caring for it. Please tell me there are definitive guides to getting it done. How is your 32 swap going currently?

Completed a sport coupe 5.0 swap. Next is going to be a wagon.
