So recently a RHD 560 SEL was posted on CL and mentioned here. I thought the car rang familiar and then I remembered:

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w126-s-se-sec-sel-sd/1541889-pretty-unique-560sel-cl-rhd-euro.html

I called on it then and was turned off by the same reasons other members posted. But then it just popped up again:

After some investigation:

Used and Salvage Auction for 2002 MERCEDES-BENZ 560 SEL | VIN: WDB1260392A368222

But a really nice trip out and back on Rt 2 through the Bershires:

Pleased it has come into the fold, well done. But aw, are you going to part it?
I think so.

Its rusted through under the rear window, the rockers are pretty rotten, someone rattle can'd the whole car and oversprayed just about every part, no title, needs ball joints and tie rods in a bad way, incorrect offset wheels, brakes are stuck from sitting for over a year...

Actually, you can repatriate it if you like ;)

Thanks Bondavi!

Yea thats it!

Too bad it doesn't have the HV ECE motor but RHD tri's is kind of cool. I would really like to see someone try and adapt them to a LHD car...Maybe bolt them on upside down so the exhaust vents out of the hood :D

ECE 822 options did not appear on later post-87 cars. This is because the ECE was the only 10:1 engine between 86 and late 1987. Then the whole lineup went to 10:1 (KAT, RuF) with 8-pin ezl's and knock sensors.

You have the 8-pin RuF version (tri-y's), which is just as good as an 822, same cam profiles (though stamped 24/25).

Same HP.

It's gonna be confusing for you remembering which side of your cars to get into - congrats on a really cool purchase

When you drive a RHD car on the right (ie US) side of the road the passenger seat is often referred to as the suicide seat.

I suspected this is what you would be bringing back with you. Is your SEL going to be getting the 2+2 setup?
I'd love that option in my 560 now, but no.

Those SEC seats in the saloon are very comfortable and good looking though
