as some of you know the mog(404.114) i have in storage had a strange tranny problem where it would not roll when it was in 3rd gear but did fine in 1&2.

Truns out it is a motor problem. I can’t get my oil pressure above 1, even when I rev it up. The motor sounds fine but I noticed the rear main seal is leaking. Oh and a little black crap is coming out the muffler.

So what do you guys think is wrong now.

It the oil press is near 1 at idle as well as won't get over 1 when reved I would suspect an over-pressure relief valve. It is usually a ball/spring style valve. If it is worn or has a broken/weak spring it would bypass all oil pressure above what it could contain.

I think that worn bearings would cause a low press reading at idle that would climb more when revved. Plus a failed valve doesn't sound all too bad.
