I've long entertained my thoughts with replacing WUR.

A lot of intermittent issues connected to enriched mixture I blamed on unstable Warm Up Regulator. A bit of gasket maker silicone and reassembly of WUR have improved the things but cemented my blame that all the evil of this world is coming from it.

The catch is that I do not want to replace a weak link in the M117 fuel management by getting just another refurbished weak link. Trouble is that I've heard of Unwired Tools UTCIS electronic WUR, I like that it is programmable and I have god faith in such device.

So it is ~ $250 for refurbished and supposedly 100% good WUR against $500 for new UT electronic WUR. Money's not an issue if electronic WUR is to make fuel mixture ideal and mappable, in its own functionality.

Have anyone here installed UTCIS-V and what was the experience?

I've entertained the same thoughts, but two things stop me:

1) It isn't CARB (California Air Resource Board) approved, so technically it's illegal for a car registered in California. I seriously doubt I would ever hear anything about it, but....

2) It isn't finished. Yes, the idea is nice. Yes, I've heard they're dead reliable. Yes, they are much, much better than a standard WUR, but if you really want to control the injection system, where's the feedback from the O2 sensor? Without that, you're still just guessing and hoping you get it somewhere close to correct. I'd add a bung and pop one of those babies into my car in a heartbeat if it had a way to get feedback, so I knew it was optimizing the fuel delivery. But it doesn't, and they've said they're going to add it for a while, but they haven't. So until they do, I'll stick with my regular old WUR.

Way too far off the reservation for a KJet system. That wouldn't be improving it, that would be scrapping and replacing it. And I like my mechanical system.

Happy with MS

I replaced all of the CIS on my car with a MS 2 system. I am very happy with it, and I am thinking that eventually I want to convert the 300E as well.
The reason that I converted my car was that the 3 main components in the CIS system were shot. The WUR was shot, the fuel distributor was not working as well, and the air slide (the mechanical one) was frozen solid. It would have cost more that what the car is worth to fix.
You really can't tell that a major conversion has happened by looking at the engine, as I kept the original intake, and the original air cleaner (no PVC pipes into the manifold!!!).
I can start my car with no problem, even after standing for a while. It will idle smooth every time. If I step on the gas it throttles. If it has a vacuum leak it will compensate and not run lean. If I wish for my car to put out 215 HP and 260 f/lb torque, it does it. I have yet to add the O2 sensor, but that is coming up next year, as well as removing the old cats in the engine compartment.
In essence, I am happy with the system. It might not have the brutality of the CIS system, but it seems to perform much, much better (a V8 idles smoother than the 300E 6 in line).
But by far the best feature, is that I can plug in my old T30 and take a look at how the engine is doing. I can also tweak it to my personal taste (within limits of course... In stock form it will NEVER put out more than about 215Hp...) and best of all is that most of the engine still has the star on it, except for the injection system that has mostly off the shelf Bosch components, and the fuel rails that are racing spec, and really do not detract from the engine.... Not that the m116/7 were pretty engines to start with....

Thanks for replies.
Good points made, specially with regards to O2 sensor.

I am repeled to get a reconditioned WUR for a once a month-driver car as my current WUR is just about acceptable for such driving style. Mileage may keep new WUR in good running condition but parked it will, I am sure, fail in near enough future.
