Jekran,

there sure are a bunch going on this year. All you need to do is go to Google.de and type in "Unimog Treffen 2010".

This will give you a choice of events coming up this year.

Make sure that you drink a lot of beer...

Jekran, I could use a complete set of stainless steel lugnuts for my 406.

Are you up for it?

Cheers,

Rolf in Montreal

The biggest Unimog event in Germany is the annual Unimog-Club-Gaggenau Treffen, which this year is held from the 18th to 20th of June in Langenaltheim, which is approximately 145km northwest of Munich (München)
I was at that meet last year when it was held in Aufenau. There are a lot of Unimogs there usually. If you want to see all models and years of Unimogs, that's the place to go to. I might go again this year, time permitting.
Other than the dates, I don't have any further information yet, but once I do I'll pass it on to you.

Here is the UNIMOG MUSEUM's calandar for the future, and you might factor that in. I agree the Treffen is bound to offer more fun, and if you take an order book, I'd suspect you could go into the Stainless Steel Bed business in short order, if you ever tire of your bread and butter.

MUSEUM CALENDAR :
PROGRAMM

This second link is for a TREFFEN PHOTO ALBUM page, with various get-togethers hosted by various clubs throughout Germany. By looking at a few
photos you can get a sense of what took place at each event previously, the number of UNIMOGS present, the opportunity for a little off-roading, etc. , etc. , and that might help you decide which ones to aim for. As mentioned,
the UGC (Unimog Club Gaggenau) is the largest, and may well have the most trucks attending their event.

TREFFEN PHOTO ALBUM : Die Gruppe Oberbayerische Unimogfreunde grüssen alle mit oder ohne Unimog

(You might have to click FOTOALBUM TREFFEN open) YES, You will....

ALSO : If you open a photo album page, and there is just a flyer for the event, don't worry. Look for " Weiter zum fotoalbum", click on that and the photos will start to load up. Hours of UNIMOG GAWKING, Fair warning.

I'm trying to work out a trip to Le 24 du Mans (last year for the prototypes as we know them, plus a Group C ((Porsche 962 ,etc etc )) warm up race),and Gaggenau in the middle of June with the kids, but it is just a plan at this point...

@Truktor: sounds like the Hinky Dinky Parlay Voo Tour of 2001 Reloaded...I still have the T-shirt you gave me at Merex ;-)

The "other" big club in Germany is the Unimog Veteranen Club Unimog Veteranen Club Verein and their annual Treffen from 30 July - 1 August in Sassenberg in Westphalia (as in the driver's cab) which unfortunately collides with those Germans wanting to fly in the other direction to the EAA's annual fly-in in Oshkosh WI

There are many local club events throughout the year in most of the various states within Germany. There has to be something within the 3 months that you'll be there. What area will you be in?

Hi Gary,
Everywhere (almost). Black Forrest area in Aug then a little time driving through France and Belgium and then back in via Cloppenburg to Schleswig Holstein for two weeks then Thueringen for two weeks, South to Giengen and then head west to Sinsheim, Worms, Gaggenau and finally back out via Zurich at the end of Oct. Will be catching up with some members of the Unimog Community that we met in Australia but no actual Treffen. For example, when the Markt is on at Gaggenau on 10 Oct, we will be in the East.

For June, July and August I could only find the following bigger "Treffens":

Unimog Club Gaggenau Treffen 18-Jun-10 to 20-Jun-10 Langaltheim
Unimog Veterans Club Treffen 30-Jul-10 to 1-Aug-10 48336 Sassenberg-Füchtorf
Unimog Treffen 21-Aug-10 to 22-Aug-10 Lohberg

I've been to the Gaggenau Club Treffen, which is probably the biggest and has representation from various other European countries.
The Veterans Club looks like it is also a large Treffen with members from different countries.
The last one is advertised as a large Treffen, but I have no details of it.

There will also be numerous Unimog tours put on by various clubs. These can be one day to several day affairs. Some of those dates are not firmed up yet.

I think, my preference would be the first or second one.

Yes, it will be a re-load of the Hinky Dinky Parlay Vous tour, if I manage to pull it off...I'm doing the research- the approach would be the same - VW
pop-top camper, but I'll be in Dad mode, not bar-hopping with buddy mode.
I'm thinking I can do it, but there are a lot of variables out there on this one...

Glad you have the T-shirt...I still have a few around and some of the stickers.
I can't remember if I screened 50 or 100 shirts, but I had extra room in my luggage when that week-end came to a close.

I'll be stopping at MEREX again, naturally, to visit my friends, and the Museum
for the kids and then I don't know what-all...If I pull it off, of course.
