You will see performance gains with the 55, expect 11 to 13 hp gain. As for gains with the 430 they are next to 0. I made 10 dyno pulls with underdrive pulleys on my car and never saw a gain. Same goes for the 320, nothing.

Thanks Josh for your candidness. The 430 is just way to slow for me and a mechanical nightmare. Im going to a car that gives me everything i want and need right out of the box. (SL,CL,1993 500E,Bently continental GT, etc.)

I'd have to take issue with that about the 320. I've seen dynographs that show a 10-12 HP gain. Im not sure about the 430 b/c i dont own one. I have some 320 pulleys on the way if * will EVER get their act together and keep blaming these delays on their "suppliers". I'll post my impressions when i get them installed.

If the dyno charts that you are refering to are the ones that I'm thinking of I'd trust in what I say. You can easily see a gain of 10 to 20 rwhp by doing a "Hot Run" use the "Hot Run" data as a "Baseline" then give the vehicle 10 to 15 min to let cylinder heads cool off then do a "Cold Run" and use that data as the run with the gains. My tests where back to back runs allowing for cooling sessions and back to back hot runs. They didn't work. If they did I would sell them to my customers. The idea behind under drive pulleys is to free up parastatic losses. Allow an object or item to rotate or accelerate quicker, but in an internal combustion engines point of view there needs to be a fair amount of engine torque available to take advantage of this. Hence the gains seen by the 55 powerplant. I can talk about this all day, this is the reason why I'm going to hold a "DYNO SHOOT OUT" at my facility next month. So people here can understand what does work and what doesn't. Plus its great for bragging rights.

I was assuming by the title of the post that the pulley kits in question would under-drive the ancilaries and over-drive the supercharger to increase boost... is this the case, or are you just refering to reducing alternator/waterpump speed with this kit, in order to reduce parasitic load?

If the second is true, is it possible to over-drive the supercharger on a CLK? Sorry if this is a dumb question; I dont know anything about these engines (for all I know the S/C could be gear driven)

The kit in reference to this topic is the setups available for the 320,430,and 55. The 320 and 430 models do not come with a factory supercharger unless the 320 model happens to be the C32. As to date the CLK models do no come factory supercharged.
