Has anybody seen any in the US? I'd like to find a short wheelbase, turbo 6cyl, with the square body cab. 3 way dump, front and rear pto's, and hydraulic outlets. I had one briefly, loved it, and would like to find another. Anybody got any leads that don't break the bank?

Yes that is my CL post in Pittsburgh! I didn't think I was allowed to mention CL in this forum... But that's exactly the kind I'm looking for. My brother and I have invested in bringing that one over so I kind of have to try and sell it. Ultimately I'm saving up to get one to keep for myself. The white one on ebay that treks mentioned is a little steep for me as far right now as far as price, but I do like the ag tires!

So if you own one already, why are you looking for one? Or do you want two? Why not just keep the one you have? There is no such thing as a cheap Unimog! You get what you pay for, the inexpensive ones will need more $$ to make right, and if you have to pay someone else to make the repairs, it would be cheaper to just buy one done already.

You make a good point. I technically own "half" of one right now. If/when we sell it I will hopefully have my share of any profit to re-invest. Maybe I'll get to the $38k range eventually! But I guess you do get what you pay for so If there is one out there that needs work it would probably be closer to my personal budget.

Ok, well let me lay it out to you like this.

Sounds a bit...funky, first you mention:

Has anybody seen any in the US? I'd like to find a short wheelbase, turbo 6cyl, with the square body cab. 3 way dump, front and rear pto's, and hydraulic outlets. I had one briefly, loved it, and would like to find another. Anybody got any leads that don't break the bank?
But yet you have one...or rather 1/2 of one in that exact configuration, on it's way to the US via Germany? Color me cynical but that all seems very weird to me.

So this is how it works. If you are genuinely looking for a Unimog, we have a For Sale/ Wanted section. Post a Wanted ad in there. (link). The general forum section is for discussion, such as "I think I want a U1200AG spec, do you think it fits my needs" and that kind of thing.

If this is some weird way of advertising your Unimog, or rather your 1/2 of a Unimog that's not even in the country yet, don't. If you are here solely to flip Unimogs, build up some posts, participate in the community, or you won't survive. Again I'm not saying that's what this is, it just seems a bit funky. That or I need my morning coffee.

Yes, I'd say it's a little bit of both I suppose! That's a good idea to post in the for/sale/wanted. Sorry if I picked the wrong place for this thread.

That 1250 is beautiful. I think I want a short wheelbase like a 1200, but I may have to shoot Couch an email. I wish people would put the asking price in their ads so at least you would know the ballpark before wasting anyone's time. We will see...! Thank you for the links. The ebay link didn't work, but the import process costs so much money and headaches anyway.

To Vonzo's point, I always say " A Unimog is a poor man's Ferrari!" You can get a cheap one, but after you go thru it you spend a ton of $. And "you cant put a new dress on an old whore! " Just my 2 cents. Yall are welcome to use those. Pay the $ and get a nice one. BFA
