It is my understanding that MB offered two color paint jobs as an extra cost option on the Pontons, but not after.

I have seen photos of just two two tone paint jobs on W123s. Both used the crease just below the windows as the break.

I have a white 240D and white is the ideal color for the "top" (hood, roof, trunk lid and just below the windows).

I was thinking of the following colors for the bottom:

1) Light to Medium Blue-Grey (matchs my eyes)
2A & B) Emerald or Jade Green (two different shades)
3) Burnt Orange (almost brown)
4) Dark Brown (MB used a nice brown on W123s)
5) Plum (Ponton era Burgundy, I saw a Ponton with white top & "Burgundy" bottom that was stunning !

Also, should air vents in front of windshield be painted in the "bottom" color ?

What are your thoughts ?

I say find some from a 1982 or earlier 300D, and put them on there, they're chrome as opposed to the black ones found on 240Ds and other models and 300Ds after 82.

I was thinking of a two tone to those same descriptions. I would like a dark grey or silver top and black bottom. The w123 has the ability in its design to look more classic or more modern. Post the pics of the two tone cars.

Looks like a taxi to me for some reason. I saw a two-tone color scheme on a W108/109. It was painted one color above the windows, on the top of the car, the part between the rear door and back window, etc... I'd prefer that way.

ive got a white car and photoshop, but im no expert. ill get at it when i can! also... will youall post some source images i can use?

the white car comment was because just about any w123 model would look nice with the white roof/hubbies! especially a nice bright red. something about red/white two-tone cars... no pics of my own personal vw as of yet, but this color scheme was my inspiration...
