Dual pumps

The reason that i believe there are two pumps is because there are six injectors on the 103 6 cyl engine, compared to only four on the 102 4 cyl version, and to keep all six injectors under pressure would be too much for the single pump.
That's not the official version, just what my knowledge of the system leads me to believe.
