my car is idling funny, i have an 87 with an 85 drive train. i adjusted the idle on top of the intake to an extent that if i adjusted it any more either way it will stall. the older cars have a adjustment on the iacv, my question is would i open it up for more air or close it? right now the car has a small puff of greyish smoke when i start it up, only at start up . would this mean that theres too much or too little air? before i advance the timing on the distro i wanna try to adjust the iacv. ideas? i have searched the boards and didnt find much. the car idles at 800 or so in park, its rough/shaky when in gear. when i brake and turn the wheel at the same time, its even rougher and stalls from time to time. plugs, wires, cap, rotors, fuel pump, fuel relay, fuel and air filter, injector seals, and the O2 sensor are new. iacv is clean, throttle and intake system have been cleaned within the past year.

grey smoke means car is too rich, i leaned it out by adjusting the iacv. the pre 87 cars had an adjustable one. having an 85 motor makes it adjustable. mite look into a 16v upgrade
