Been searching for a while but could not find instructions on which socket to tap for the city light function? Or perhaps a diagram?

Jippi & 355190E26:

Thanks for your info! I just found them on Ebay and good thing I did not buy them yet. I'm also looking to convert my 86 to euro headlight. Do you have a link for the euro plug?

Thanks!
Phil

The euro plug socket is basically the same as the ones from your rear tail light. Either order them from the stealership or go to your local junkyard.
Here's a link to what the Euro plug looks like btw. http://katmac.com/
Don't buy from them though, way too expensive.

Here's how I did the wiring. I used the same wiring diagram like in the PDF in the post above. Hope these pictures help.

You'll have to rewire the black connector according to the Euro diagram in the PDF. It requires a small amount of soldering.

I was able to get the lights to work properly :)

The city light was the black for the driver side, and gray for the passenger side. Cut part of the 2nd wrap (for lack of a better term) and pulled out the wires into the respective number (city light goes into slot #3 on the 6-pin sockets). Nothing goes to slot #1.

The Euro lights I got were Hella and had the MB logo on them, they were like new and so, I was happy.

Good to hear you got them working properly. I got a good deal on a pair of Bosch Euros I found on ebay last year. Those city lights look so damn good on the smoked silver 190s :D

I'm going for clear corners next. But I'm not buying that depot shit. A few months back I picked up a HELLA clear corner on ebay, but only the left side. Might take me a long long time, but I'll find the right side one day.

Does city light blinks?

Ei guys, I replaced my US headlights for the Euro headlights a few months ago. I've never wired the city lights (out of time), but now I was looking at this thread I was wondering... when you "bridge" the city lights with the parking lights, Does the city lights blink as the turn signals/parking lights???

Does anyone have the headlight switch (European) in which you are able to adjust the European headlights with Vacuum source??

No, it doesn't blink. They just come on with the running light. Sure, you could make them blink but that would be wrong.

I hooked mine to my key last night so that they come on whenever the car is running. (For safety)

If you need any help wiring them, send me a PM. I'd be happy to help with any questions you might have.
