Trunk flies open very quickly and with great force.

When I hit the trunk release button inside the car, the trunk flies open very quickly. Is this normal? I haven't been able to compare the speed with other cars but it's seem as though it should open a little slower with some sort of dampening effect or something.

Hey man try adjusting the springs, this should remedy that lid flying up. I would ? why it does that though. It means that someone had probably put another set of hinges/lid on there at some point. Better than even odds that your car has a history of being hit in the rear. I have seen this numerous times. Good luck....
