since I have really nasty broken star emblem on my trunk ( looks like unicorn's horn) I pop off the trunk lid cover and saw that it has 3 things are inserted through the lid and one of em looks like small rivet or something its not screwed in. I need to know how to take off this broken star without hurting the hole. I will make DIY with pics and all but need to know removal and installation steps.

List is US$14 for a new one, autohausaz.com sells it for $12. You might see if autopartsway has it, they sell out of Canada, or call your dealer and see how much they want for it.

Use a plastic putty knife (or bondo spreader) to pop your old one off. So long as the plastic inserts stay in the lid, you can just reuse them.

Using a plastic tool / card, gently pry one side to lift up, (at the center of the star) then the other side, and the top. At this point you can pull it out completely with your fingers by grabbing it in the center..

I replaced mine on the S500, looks solid now
