Disc brake dust has always been a problem on this vintage Mercedes no matter what pad you install. Installing protective brake dust shields behind the wheel does stop the issue. Such as Kleen wheels, or Mr. Gasket dust shields. Yes, the discs can maybe reduce cooling of the brake rotor, but the amount it reduces it really doesn't matter. There is still plenty of air moving through the brakes. You can remove them when you go formula track racing with your R107 and then reinstall them afterwards.

Also I have Ceramic pads in the front of my V12 107, but that is using an R129 break system. The pads keep the wheels clean but they give the breaking action a rough feel unless you stop hard from 100MPH. They also tend to wake you up with a sphincter shrinking moment occasionally when they are cold first thing in the morning.

We've had Pearl only five years, but I smile every time I step on the brakes. I've never driven a car, and I've driven a few in 55 years, that has a pedal feel like her. I'd hate to lose that. Maybe I'll just keep on cleaning her wheels. I like them clean.

And what make would they be ?

Fed up with this repeated false claim of "no dust" , just be realistic , low dust , that is washed away easily .
Mine are EBC red Stuff. They are not available for the stock 560SL. I have SL600 big breaks on my car. Yeah theirs dust, but its like comparing a broom swept parking lot to the Sahara desert. And its easy to wash away. It just doesn't stick.
